A glass of chilled Masala Chaas… Ahaaa, so Refreshing!!! Perfect cold beverage in hot summer. Keeps your tummy cool and happy. Originally, buttermilk referred to the liquid left over from churning butter from cultured or fermented cream. Traditionally, before cream could be skimmed from whole milk, the milk was left to sit for a period of time to allow the cream and milk to separate. On the Indian subcontinent, the term “buttermilk” refers to the liquid left over after extracting butter from churned yogurt. Today, this is called traditional buttermilk. Lassi is a proper traditional yoghurt based drink. It is a blend of yoghurt, water, spices, dry fruits and sometimes tropical fruits. In summers the most frequently made drink at my place is Mango Lassi. Another yoghurt based thin savory drink commonly made in India is Chaas. Lassi is a sweeter and a thicker version which can be relished by adding various flavors to it. Sweet Lassi is one of the drinks me and my family relish not only in summer but always. It is so much satisfying to have it after a light meal. A nicely blended heavy dry…

Tawa paneer masala is one of the quick side dishes to accompany roti or rice and takes merely 15-20mins to prepare. The recipe of tawa paneer…

I have a sweet tooth and so has my son… after every meal my family needs something sweet to indulge. Whether it’s a cake, cookie, brownie or a fudge …anything sweet to satisfy my sweet craving shall do. After finishing my zebra cake thought to lay my hands on a fudge. Didn’t wanted to go for a baked one, hence landed up making a No Bake Choco Nut Fudge.Something that was quick and hassle free. The preparation time was hardly 10mins and cooking time 10mins.

I have always been wondering why do left overs taste more delicious than the fresh ones…lol Whether it’s Biryani, Kheer or any other food. Left overs are something that has always tingled my taste buds. I have kept myself into a practice of recycling the food left in the fridge, next day. I use the veggies to stuff in parathas or make sandwiches. The dal is often dried n stuffed in parathas. In short i love to re use the left food rather than throwing it into the dustbin (which is actually not good). One of my favorite breakfast is…

I can never get tired of pampering my son…. specially after a long illness when my son asks for a treat have to give him something special. For a week my baby had fever and almost lost his appetite. It was a tough time for him as well as me too. The moment he recovered the first thing he asked me to make was a custard. Though he always like to relish the regular fruit custard, but this time i thought to stretch a bit and add some breads to make a pudding. As expected the pudding turned out well…

The most commonly made Indian sweet at homes. Quick and easy loaded with loads of dry fruits make this Halwa more appetizing. I still remember when i was a kid and if there was any sudden arrival of guests, my mother use to run into the kitchen and withing minutes she use to come out with bowls of suji ka halwa. The mouth melting halwa with the richness of ghee n dry fruits was my family’s all time favorite. I still do make it for my son specially in winters.
